We’re proud to announce the release of our STILLEN Generation 3 Ultra Long Tube Intake for the G37 Coupe (Part # 402846). This same intake also fits the Q60 3.7 Coupe. Some said that it was impossible to make horsepower with an intake on the VQ37HR, and we were determined to prove otherwise. This intake is the testament of the level of commitment from our R&D department, who went through over 50 variations before finalizing the design. The air filters are placed outside of the engine bay directly behind the main grille and are protected by a urethane splash guard.

STILLEN was the first national tuner to introduce a high flow intake for the G37 Coupe. Our first short tube intake provided a small boost in power with a great sound. Economical and easily installed, this Generation 1 Short Tube Intake became instantly popular. Some months later we introduced our Generation 2 Long Tube Intake, featuring polished tubes, even better sound and a power gain over the Generation 1. Our continuing dedication to getting the maximum performance from each vehicle has lead to the introduction of our new Generation 3 Ultra Long Tube Intake for Infiniti G37. This intake has a radically new design that provides dramatically better power than any G37 intake on the market. Our R&D team went through over 50 variations before being satisfied that this system is the best that can be made for the G37 Coupe.The new Generation 3 Ultra Long Tube Intake places two large K&N filters in front of the radiator and directly behind the main grille. Strategic placement of the filters allow for optimum cold air flow and easy filter removal for cleaning. It features additional polished tubes that pass through the front core support, larger air filters than the Generation 2 unit, a urethane splash guard to help protect the filter and a system of varied diameter tubing and steps to maximize air velocity.The power result: A dyno-proven 18.5 horsepower gain at the wheels. This translates to an estimated 22 horsepower gain at the flywheel. No other intake for the G37 can match these power gains!Recommended installation requires removal of the front fascia clip (not absolutely necessary, but significantly aids in ease of installation) and slightly enlarging the holes through the front core support. Installation time is estimated at two hours for an experienced technician. No other part relocation or parts removal is required.

We thought it would be interesting to show everyone out there what goes on behind the scenes during the big SEMA push here at STILLEN. The first project car we’re going to reveal is our 2009 STILLEN Maxima. As usual we’ve got a comprehensive build planned which addresses all of the major systems on the car including power, suspension, braking, appearance and entertainment.

The first and one of the most time consuming parts of the process is creating appearance upgrades in our durable STILLEN urethane.

These pictures are coming direct from our on-site body styling studio where some of our most talented and trusted employees begin the mock-up process for our STILLEN body parts.

The process begins with a concept sketch, that is then transferred onto the car and shaped by hand. This step is where the design actually comes to realization on the vehicle. Once the sculpting is complete, we’ll post an update here, so stay tuned!

Steve Millen and the STILLEN crew are very excited to once again be participating in the Dunlop Targa Rally held in New Zealand with the STILLEN Ford GT. This is an annual road rally held on 38 stages run over closed public roads, with a variety of vehicles, from classics to Porsche’s, EVO’s, STi’s, Skyline’s and everything in between.

The competition stages are public roads which have been closed by the police and driven flat out. The goal is simple, the car that covers the distance in the shortest time wins.

Last year we were unable to make the event due to medical issues of one of the major team members but this year we are heading back and plan to be better than ever.

In 2006 we competed with our 2005 Ford GT Supercar. In just a few months we took the car from a bone stock black GT and built ourselves a bright orange race car, including development of a performance exhaust, cat delete pipes, chromoly roll cage, AP Racing Front Big Brakes, and installation of other top quality products like Penske Racing Shocks, MOMO Racing Seats and Restraints, and some aerodynamic and body protection urethane pieces.

This year we will be returning with the same car however it has been MAJORLY improved. In the past year and a half we have continued developing parts such as:

  • Increased Horsepower from the Supercharged 5.4L Motor
  • Additional Suspension Upgrades
  • Larger Front and Rear AP Racing Big Brake Kit
  • New and improved AP Racing Clutch

With these improvements we hope to be a strong competitor in this year’s rally. I will be returning this year as Team Navigator, riding with Steve and calling the turns, and will be posting daily updates from the hotel rooms. I invite you to follow along for this exciting event.

The team will be starting from Auckland on the North Island and over 6 days will travel south covering over 2,200 kilometers (1,350 miles).

Car & Driver released their testing results on several Nissan GT-R’s they have had in their October 2008 article from their website.

Excerpt from the online article:

On MotorCity Speed’s Mustang dyno in Commerce Township, Michigan, GT-R No. 4 produced a peak of 415 horsepower at the wheels. Based on our 20-percent loss estimate, the engine output was 519, or 39 horsepower more than Nissan’s stated 480.

They go on to state they felt this more accurately explains the testing results they’ve had against the Corvette Z06, where their test GT-R outran the Z06 in both 0-60 (3.3 vs. 3.4 seconds) and in the quarter mile (11.5 at 124 mph versus 11.8 at 125).

As a side note, it’s been our experience that Mustang dynos generally show lower horsepower numbers compared to other dynamometer companies, such as Dynojet, Dynapak, etc.
