Formula Drift 2013 Season Kicked Off in Long Beach

2013 Formula Drift season kicked off this past Saturday to a sold out crowd in Long Beach. Thousands of fans gathered as the the worlds best in drift battled it out for the top spot. After a long day of smoked tires, Daijiro Yoshihara in his 240SX came out on top, followed closely by Vaughn Gittin Jr. in second and Chris Forberg in third.

The Slammed Society Car Show and Vendor Village were a great way to kill some time in between rounds.

Scion’s FR-S has been everywhere lately, the Forumula Drift was no exception.

Weekend Fun: Steve Millen hits Ruakaka Street Sprint in STILLEN Ford GT

What did you do this weekend? Mow the lawn? BBQ? How about race a STILLEN Ford GT around closed public roads? Well that's what Steve Millen found himself doing...

What did you do this weekend? Mow the lawn? Have a BBQ? hang out at the beach? How about race a STILLEN-equipped Ford GT supercar around closed public roads? Well that’s what Steve Millen found himself doing this weekend.

As you may know Steve was born and raised in New Zealand before moving to America in the early 80’s to launch his very successful North American racing career. Now that he no longer races professionally he enjoys competing in Targa Rallies, hill climbs, and “street sprints.” You may or may not also be aware that STILLEN is the only shop certified by Ford Motor Company to service the Ford GT’s sophisticated transmission. You bring a GT to a dealer and they’ll tell you, “Call STILLEN.” It’s been a few years since we first became involved with the Ford GT, but the car is every bit as fun as it was then. This particular event was a “Street Sprint”, a point to point race basically consists of blasting around public roads (closed for the event) – with your trackday weapon of choice.
