Here at STILLEN, we’re no strangers to performance cars and are pretty used to seeing extremely fast cars visiting our facilities for one reason or another. After all, we normally have our founder, Steve Millen’s Nissan No. 75 300ZX sitting in our lobby. However, a couple of weeks ago we had a vehicle come through that impressed even the seasoned veterans – a Ferrari 550 Maranello. Now, this wasn’t any ordinary Ferrari – it was visiting the STILLEN performance shop for a laser alignment in preparation for attempting a land speed record at Bonneville Speedway’s SpeedWeek.
Precision Alignment
As you can imagine, our ASE certified experts, who are trained in all aspects of vehicle suspension took great care of this potential land speed record holder. To start, we strapped on the laser targeted system and precisely dialed in the suspension, making sure to optimize it for driving on the salt flats of Bonneville.
The Results
Unfortunately, this year’s Bonneville Speed Week was canceled due to standing water, so we weren’t able to root for the Ferrari 550 Maranello’s attempt at breaking a land speed record. However, there is rumor of the World Finals being extended to make up for Speed Week being canceled. Hopefully this Ferrari’s owner will get another chance to go for the record!
How Can I Get My Car Seen by the STILLEN Performance Shop?
One of the best kept secrets in the Southern California car scene is the STILLEN performance shop. While we do have a special place in our heart for Nissan and Infiniti cars, we love seeing Ferraris, BMWs, Ford GTs, Challengers, Chargers, Raptors, Silverados and basically any other type of performance car (or truck) come through our shop.
