Body Styling and Lowering are on the Rise

It’s an unspoken rule among auto enthusiasts that every car looks better with a set of gorgeous wheels and lowered suspension. Therefore, it’s not surprising that with this rise in sales, there is a corresponding increase in aftermarket upgrades purchased. To give this car that oh-so-desirable lowered stance, a set of RS-R Lowering Springs for 2009+ Infiniti Q60 were fitted, offering a 1.2in drop up front and a 1.0in drop at the rear for a sleek yet understated look. A slick set of semigloss black Vossen Wheels completes the aesthetic.

We spoke to Infiniti of Melbourne’s Parts Department manager, Luke Degraff, who shared some of his observations.

“The increased sales of the Q60 coupe, along with its sedan sibling, the Q50, have led to an increase in aftermarket parts sales, especially the STILLEN Unpainted Front Bumper Splitter for 2017 Infiniti Q60 [V36] and the STILLEN Rear Valance Diffuser for 2014-2017 Infiniti Q50 [V36]. A good number of customers have also chosen to lower their new Q50 or Q60 with a set of RS-R Lowering Springs for 2009+ Infiniti Q60 [V36] RWD (N120D). We chose Vossen Wheels to complete the showroom model. The presentation has been very well received!”

The STILLEN equipped Q60 was a hit at Infiniti of Melbourne’s Cars and Coffee event this past Saturday, July 22.

Infiniti of Melbourne also regularly hosts a Cars and Coffee event at the dealership. During their July 2017 event, the STILLEN/RS-R/Vossen equipped Q60 certainly drew plenty of attention from visitors checking out the vehicles on display.

STILLEN Dealer Profile: Holman Infiniti X STILLEN Q50S AWD

The Holman Group is at it again! Knowing what the customer wants and working with the right companies to showcase what can be done is what Holman Infiniti does well. Kevin Shaw in the Parts Department looked at the Iridium Blue Q50S V37 AWD that was sitting on the showroom floor and saw the opportunity to do something eye catching.

The amber turn signals really stand out against the red lenses.

Holman Infiniti has used STILLEN products on several of its previous showroom queens, making the body styling decisions for this Q50S quite easy. Kevin started with a Sport Front Bumper Splitter (KB11225), and Rear Valance Diffuser (KB11222MB) followed by an Infiniti Sport Exhaust. Then, to make it really stand out from the rest, he ordered up and installed the first known set of JDM Q50 taillights in the USA. The dark red lenses with the amber turn signals stand out from the typical USDM Q50 variants.

The following images show the difference between the USDM factory taillights (bright red plastic with red turn signal) versus the JDM taillights (darker red plastic with amber turn signal).

The US Domestic Market (USDM) Q50 V37 taillights are red on red, including the turn signal.

The Japanese Domestic Market (JDM) Q50 taillights feature an amber colored turn signal.

It’s no secret that turbocharged engines thrive when allowed to breathe. Naturally-aspirated engines rely on some back pressure to create a scavenging effect to help maintain exhaust gas velocity. By contrast, turbocharged engines and particularly, the turbocharger(s), function most efficiently when the exhaust offers the least amount of possible resistance.

When Infiniti released the Q50 and Q60 with its new twin-turbocharged VR30DDTT engine, a new chapter in the performance passenger car segment had begun. Drawing on its experience with the VR38 engine that powers the mighty GT-R, the sturdy and underrated VR30 engine relies on its twin Garrett turbochargers to generate boost pressure. When allowed to breathe, the turbochargers really come to life.

In the quest for the greatest gains possible, STILLEN engineers worked tirelessly to optimize this exhaust system. After several design revisions and numerous prototypes, this Cat-back Exhaust improved output with a best incremental gain of 21.37 horsepower at 4,750RPM and 23.94 lb-ft torque at 4,780RPM.

The Best Exhaust: STILLEN 2016 Infiniti Q50 Cat Back Exhaust features T-304 stainless-steel construction for corrosion resistance and durability, along with slip fit connectivity for weight reduction. The 3-inch mid-pipe mates to the catalytic converter and splits into two 2.5-inch axle-back mufflers. The mufflers terminate in your choice of three different exhaust tip finishes, including carbon fiber (p/n 504450), stainless steel (p/n 504451) and burnt stainless steel (p/n 504452). The bolt-on exhaust tips enable you to adjust the tip position for a proper fit no matter what bumper or aero you choose to run at the back. You can also purchase the other tips separately in the case that you want to change up the look of your exhaust.
