We think you’ll agree with us when we say:

Well it turns out there are a few simple steps you can follow to ensure your splitters, diffusers, fascias, wings and spoilers go on easy and stay put.

And in today’s post (and videos) we’re going to show you how to install your body styling kit the right way.

These helpful instructions work when installing high-quality Made in USA STILLEN brand polyurethane body styling parts. If you decide to buy cheapo knock-off parts, well, we wish you luck (and you’ll need it).

Body Styling Installation Video Transcript:

0:04 Hey guys, we’re gonna quick demonstration on how the 3m adhesive adheres to the
0:07 paint with different prep. So, we’ve already cleaned the surface. We’ve scuffed it. Now,
0:12 we’re going to use our recommended cleaning solution which is Wurth Surface
0:16 Prep, Quick Detailer and Goo Gone.
0:28 So we’re going on to clean the first surface
0:33 with our Clean Prep solution. The second surface we’re going to clean with Quick Detailer.
0:41 And on the third surface, we’re going to clean with Goo Gone.
0:49 You’re gonna wipe each surface clean and let it dry.
0:51 Next, we’re gonna lightly scuff the surface of the paint using either a fine grit
0:55 sandpaper or emery cloth. Now, we’re going to apply our adhesion promoter to each area.
1:06 We place three strips of 3m tape that have already been adhered to this piece of
1:11 urethane with adhesion promoter and we’re going to place it on all three
1:15 different prep surfaces. So we’re going to let that dry for about 10 minutes. Then, we’re going to pull it
1:20 off and show you how the 3M tape reacts to the different prep surfaces.
1:25 We’re going to rip this piece of urethane off and show you how the tape sticks.
1:33 But you can see, the things like Quick Detailer and the Goo Gone, we didn’t get great adhesion.
1:40 We can still kind of pull this off. Some of it ripped off. So, this is with our Prep Solution, Quick Detailer
1:47 Goo Gone. If can you see, this one stuck a little bit better and this is with maybe
1:53 five minutes to dry. This one we lost a lot more but we lost a decent chunk also.
1:58 Thanks for watching guys if you have any more questions feel free to give us a call or shoot us an email.
