Recently, the STILLEN performance shop had a Corvette/ first time G37 sedan owner stop by for some upgrades for his new G. After talking with our experts about the best ways to enhance his vehicle’s performance, he decided to go with a STILLEN cat-back exhaust and Gen 3 intake and have both installed at the STILLEN performance shop. Plus, he has plans for installing a supercharger, upgrading his suspension and customizing the exterior of his vehicle with various STILLEN aftermarket body components. I think it’s safe to say that most of you don’t get tired of seeing superchargers, especially when they go into a Nissan 370Z Nismo as clean as this one. Already having it’s share of mods, including the STILLEN 370Z Gen 3 Intake, the owner decided it was time to supercharge the VQ37.

The attention to detail on this white 370Z Nismo is very impressive. White powder coated front strut bar, flat black headlight housing with white projector rings, red carbon fiber interior accents, flat black wheels and white brake calipers are only a few of the custom touches that make this Z stand out.

The STILLEN 370Z Supercharger is a 50 State legal, bolt-on install that uses the Vortech V3 self-lubricating supercharger system. This force induction kit has shown a dyno proven increase to over 500 horsepower!

2013 Nissan 370Z Sport Package

A customer brought in his brand new, bright red 2013 Nissan 370Z with Sport Package recently to add a few finishing touches to his ride. It arrived already equipped with our STILLEN 370Z Stainless Steel Exhaust System installed by the dealer, but needed one more piece for maximum air flow; the STILLEN Generation 3 Ultra Long Tube Dual Intake Kit.

This STILLEN 370Z Cat-back Exhaust and  STILLEN Gen 3 Intake for 370Z combination is a bolt-on upgrade that has shown to put an additional 35 horsepower to the wheels!

The new 2013 370Z design is similar to previous years, with a few minor upgrades. A stand out is the LED lights on both corners of the front fascia, but more notably the Sport Edition comes with a new set of 19″ Ray’s Wheels. This new twisted design, like previous Ray’s versions, are forged, lightweight, and look great.

The Sport Package 370Z also comes equipped with Nissan’s Performance Brake system. But to push these brakes to the next level, Goodridge Stainless Steel Brake Lines and AP Racing Brake Fluid were installed. Last week, we told you about the IMPORT TUNER Power Pages article that featured our Supercharged 370z with just 3 magical parts on it.

As you can see from the previous article, those three parts alone gave the 370z a 139HP boost at the wheels and 90lb/ft of torque. While we would LOVE to equip our customers cars with superchargers all day, the $8,000+ price tag might be a little too much for every budget. So today, we figured it would be fitting to cover a more cost effective approach to the “magic number.”

While navigating through the wonderful world of YOUTUBE this morning, I stumbled upon a video from EFI LOGICS that features the magic number of 3 in a much more affordable combination.

As you can see, it turns out 3 is in fact the magic number on the 370z for gains good for +40HP at the wheels and +30 lb/ft of torque. All for a price that’s roughly around $2500.

Lately, we have been getting a ton of 370z questions regarding when we officially recommend tuning your 370Z after adding a few bolt on’s.  The 370z is a very potent car straight out of the box but as soon as you start adding one too many bolt on’s you can change the car’s optimal air/fuel ratio to actually start to hinder your motor. Instead of boring you with a horribly written “Guide to modding your 370z,” I’ll refer you to the IMPORT TUNER power pages article where they managed to massage an extra 40HP out of the VQ37VHR powerplant.

The 370Z Generation 3 Ultra long intake features a proprietary intake design devised to maximize horsepower from the VQ37 engine.

As with all of the Gen 3 Intakes, these pass beyond the stock airbox location, and reside just in front of the radiator, allowing for cool air provided from the front grille, avoiding the troublesome location of at ground level, where asphalt temperatures can dramatically increase the intake air temp, and hydrolocking is most common. Slight enlargement of the factory core support is necessary to accommodate the pipes, which is achieved easily with a dremel or other cutting tool.

When developing these intakes, we’ve seen the highest gains after 7-8 dyno runs. This intake was installed on a customer vehicle, so we limited testing to 3 runs.  During this testing, gains are up just over 15hp to the wheels (dyno below) at high RPM’s, 12hp peak, and may increase slightly.
